Perhaps have configure test for the presence of <sys/inttypes.h>
and then let c.h do
#ifdef HAVE_SYS_INTTYPES_H
#include <sys/inttypes.h>
#else
typedef signed char int8;
... etc
#endif
Could this substitute for the ugly #ifndef __BEOS__ as well?
