Hi all,

It has been a long two months without the regular SydPUG meetings (due
to a variety of factors).

SydPUG convenes on the 1st Tuesday of the month, which means our next
meeting will be the 1st February.

We are planning on having a release party to celebrate 8.0 going wild.

At the moment we are currently planning on having the party at the James
Squire Brewrey House (JSBH) -- our regular meeting venue. However,
depending on numbers we may move to larger location.

If you are interested in attending please respond and let us know so we
can gauge numbers.

Thanks,
Anand

For those of us interstate and need to look into flights and maybe
accomodation, how late do you think this will run?

I plan to be there, and it's possible one or two others from Proximity
might want to attend also - do you need definite numbers yet?

Well I've had about 12 people say they will be there, so I've booked the
Spanish Club (188 Liverpool St.,) from 7pm. I think last flights from
Sydney are 10pm or so -- I'd be betting that you want to book for the
next morning.

Remember this will be a social event primarily; though disussion on 8.0i
/ 8.1 postgres will no doubt arise.

Cheers,
Anand

So we've had 11 people confirm and I've put in a booking for the Spanish
Club (188 Liverpool St.,) for next Tuesday 1st Feb at 19:00.

If you think you might be coming, do let me know -- it'd be a shame to
not be able to get a seat. If the dance floor is operating we may even
have a few postgresql hackers up on stage!

Cheers,
Anand

PS: Did you now that LCA2005 early-bird discounts cease on the 1st of
February? There will be a great talk on the PostgreSQL query optimiser.

Don't delay, register today.

Count me in Annand.

Why the change from the James Squire?

Regards,

Ashley
PS I'll have to leave early, to catch a flight that night.

Well the James Squire Brewrey House (JSBH) is a good venue if you are
doing presentations but since this is a social, we won't be.

We are currently looking around for other similiar venues in the City
(as it is, for various meetings, I end up at the JSBH almost every week)
but I expect that will take a bit of time.

Cheers,
Anand
