Hi ,
Is the POSTGRESQL version (7.3.4 onwards) compatible
with the MAC-Intel machines (macintosh machines with
Intel processor) that would be soon launched by APPLE?
Are there any specific steps to follow to compile it?
Please reply to my ID as well.

Darwinports is your best bet.
http://www.darwinports.org/darwinports/dports/databases/postgresql8/Portfile
Failing Darwinports, Pkgsrc should run fine on Darwin/i386.
