Working with the City of Wilsonville

Hey everyone,

I propose we try to do 10am-2pm on Saturday August 27th at Emma (524
E. Burnside St., Suite 510). Lunch and beverages will be provided.

To address a question that has come in:

Bringing your own laptop is not required. Depending on what people
wish to do, we can either have a postgres community system available
to work with remotely or to work on individual's computers. Dan will
be supplying a database.

Just a reminder. We current have only 2 people who are going to make
it. We'd like to have at least 4. I'll make the final call first

Did the platform get sent out at some point? If so I missed it. I'd like to get a virtual machine set up to match what the City of Wilsonville is using prior to Saturday.

The best that I can offer is that I plan on dropping in for moral
support since I don't think I'll be able to contribute substantively.
I was sort of the initial messenger that got this ball rolling and
really want to see it work out for the best.

I was looking more for what operating system and what version of postgres. If some external scripts are needed it would be nice to know what tools are available (perl, python, bash, etc.).

I don't think so. I'm taking that to mean the requirements are not

No, I wasn't at the desk today - I was out in the field today with
four new interns and some GPS gear. Sorry for the delay.

Our platform is MS SQL Server 2008. I use ArcGIS to fire off a Python
script which in turn calls an SQL script. I can share the Py and SQL
scripts for some context tomorrow. I think the goal for this task is
pretty limited and I hope that it can be accomplished with some pretty
OS/Platform agnostic SQL.

I'll send a better summary of our environment, the database, and the
goal tomorrow when back in the office.

If these parameters are outside the spirit of the group I totally
understand. If any individuals or group of individuals are interested
in helping offline, please feel free to be in touch.
